The new guideline for oil changes tends to be between 7,500 and 10,000 miles. However, this can vary by model and whether you use synthetic oil or not. The previous and general guideline is every 3,000 miles. It's a good idea to check your manual and see what the manufacturer recommends. Even you don't drive 3,000 miles in three months, you might consider getting it changed at that point to prevent old oil from sitting in your engine.
